FAQ

Q. Do I need to move my furniture before the crew arrives?

  A. We are professionally trained to move your furniture, and return it to its rightful place when cleaning is completed. We will move most furniture that can be safely moved by a two-man crew. We do suggest you remove items off of your furniture like lamps, photo frames and knick-knacks.

Q. How often should my carpet be cleaned?

  A. Doctors recommend that people with allergies and asthma wash their carpeting, drapes and upholstered furniture every 3 to 6 months. Vacuuming alone will not do the trick. Professional cleaning is the key to killing dust mites which is the number one cause of allergens in the indoor environment. We recommend cleaning residential carpet  with medium traffic area at least once a year.

Note: Carpet protector is strongly recommended as it can prevent many permanent stains, assist in resisting traffic area damage and make future cleaning more effective. Regular foot traffic removes much of the factory protection from your carpet, leaving your carpet unprotected could allow permanent stains, premature wear and cause a lower appearance level. Ask your technician about 3M Teflon protector.

Q. How long will it take to clean my carpet?

  A. On average, it will take approximately 20 minutes per room. This time can vary greatly depending on the amount of furniture to be moved, how soiled the carpet is, and any necessary spot removal treatment.

Q. Won’t water ruin my carpet?

  A. Water can damage carpet if it is not properly extracted. However, the method used by Techniclean, Inc. removes 95% of the limited water with our industrial-strength vacuum. Also, it’s the method that most carpet manufacturers recommend.

Q. How long will it take for my carpet to dry?

  A. Drying time depends on humidity levels, airflow to the room(s) cleaned, and the type of carpet. In general, turning on your air conditioning or heating system (depending on the time of year and your location) will help speed the process. While it typically takes 2-24 hours for the carpet to dry, you can walk on it as soon as we are finished (just remember to remove street shoes first to avoid re-soiling).

Q. I have allergies and am worried if the chemical that you use will bother me?

  A. The solutions that we use are environmentally safe and completely non-toxic and are safe for people with allergies, children and pets. Rugs and furniture can harbor soil and other contaminants. Properly cleaning your carpet and furniture will remove the built up soil and contaminants to improve indoor air quality and reduce allergens.

Q. What should I do if the spots that were cleaned reappear?

  A. Although most spots that are removed from carpet do not reappear, some substances in carpet backing may wick to the surface after cleaning. If this happens, contact us at  1-877-644-8805 as soon as possible. We  will be able to help you resolve this problem.

Q. What are those funny things (blocks or tabs) that you put under my furniture?

  A. They are protective coasters and are there to protect your carpet from rust or furniture stains. You should wait until your carpet is completely dry before removing them.

Q. How do you guarantee customer satisfaction?

  A. We are happy to work with you to correct any situation that may arise. In some cases this can mean spot cleaning specific areas of concern or even completely re-cleaning the areas in question. In the end, we’re not satisfied until you are.
